My group's guiding question was: In what ways does technology improve or worsen student engagement and apathy?

My individual research question was: In what ways can technology be utilized to improve student engagement/motivation rather than worsen it/increase apathy?
Needs Assessment
1. Students being hungry/thirsty in class a lot even after lunch (for context, Anderson has a 90% poverty rate)
2. Student personal devices are a big distraction in class, and oftentimes students spend time trying to find a place to charge their phones (potential idea is getting charging stations in each room, so phones will be out of sight and also charging)
3. Vaping- there was a vape put into the school iPad charger
4. Not enough subs- classes are shoved into the library together and don't get to do a lot of learning when their teacher is out
5. Yearbook class needs new cameras- they don't have enough for students to be able to check them out to use
6. Threats being made online, and students not understanding the seriousness of them (maybe a guest speaker could come in to talk about the implications/legal consequences?)- these threats greatly affect school safety and culture
7. Art club funding- they are having to use classroom materials
